This will be our second year of using the LED lights. They do cost a bit more, but the savings in energy is worth it. Not to mention the less impact.

In addition to the cost savings, the safety advantage of these types of lights cannot be overstated especially at Christmas time. Often, lights are left on all night long and the traditional bulbs can get very hot thereby creating a fire hazard. LEDs do not have this problem since emit no practically no heat.
