I’m torn about the ecological benefits of CFL. Power savings vs. Mercury waste? I felt the need to comment because I bought a great many of these FEIT brand CFL bulbs at Costco. All the specialty bulbs (R40 and G30) burned out in the first year (0 for 20!) The 13 watt bulbs have lasted OK, but the 23 watt bulbs have had an abnormally high failure rate as well. Half-life of maybe 2 years? The longevity claims are way overstated. HOWEVER, there is good news: Costco has been a real trooper in taking them back (even after 2 years) and refunded my money!
