Looking for a more energy saving new computer for the holiday? Check this database first: EPEAT is a system to help purchasers in the public and private sectors evaluate, compare and select desktop computers, notebooks and monitors based on their environmental attributes. They are listed by Bronze, Silver or Gold ratings. EPEAT is run the non profit Green Electronics Council.

Climate Savers also has a database of energy savings computers. This non profit was started by Google and Intel in 2007. Per Climate Savers – “Our goal is to promote development, deployment and adoption of smart technologies that can both improve the efficiency of a computer’s power delivery and reduce the energy consumed when the computer is in an inactive state.”

Erecycle has a list of places where you can recycle your old system.
