New San Francisco Green Remodeling Store

Posted by easy eco blog, May 13th, 2010

caulk, window striping, hole fillers, save energy

A New Green Remodeling Store has opened in San Francisco. Ecohaus has opened at 9th & Bryant. They sell green building materials and can brainstorm with you on your new remodeling projects. They also have stores in Seattle and Portland. It is always good to have a new resource and local supply place for green products. They even carry Hard to find Osmo Polyx-Oil.

“Our space features sustainable building materials in its displays and offices, including FSC Certified PureBond plywood, 100% wool carpets, and PaperStone countertops. We’re even reusing display fixtures from a previous showroom to reduce our material use!”

New Green Store

Posted by easy eco blog, January 28th, 2009

New Home Inc. is a ambitious new store I saw an ad for in the SF newspaper. They are located in San Rafael, California with many other locations planned.  Looks like they are trying to be a Green Home Depot that also sells services.  Their website is mostly under construction.  It will be nice to have more ‘green’ home stores. We had to hunt all over for green construction supplies.

The best stores we found in the San Francisco Bay Area were green fusion design center in San Anselmo and ecohome Improvement in Berkeley.  Reclaim in Menlo Park has some green products.

Someday, Home Depot and Lowes will get with the program and these niche places will unfortuneately become toast.
